Dreary and formulaic, but still effective in its portrayal of the trials of a highly competent woman who works for a man who is barbaric in his abuse. Julia Garner is pitch perfect.

Villains (2019)
Should have been better than it was. Nothing was inherently wrong, but it just didn’t land well. Bill Skarsgård and Kyra Sedgwick were a bit wasted here, though their scenes together were squirm-worthy.
