Dummy (2020)

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

I enjoy a lot of Anna Kendrick’s projects so I was more than a smidge wary when I heard about this project: “An aspiring writer befriends her boyfriend’s sex doll and the two take on the world together.” Combine that preposterousness with Donal Logue and I can assure you I had very low expectations.

I laughed. A lot. The short format probably helped. Bite sized episodes made for quick arcs with very little room to lag.

Quibi announced that it’s folding so this may get hard to view.
